SENATVS CONSVLTVM
Anno urbis conditae DCCXXXII, Nonis Maiis, Lemuribus placandis

In regione Aventina extra muros, tentorium nigrum apparuit ubi nulla tabernacula fuerant. Nulli pali fixi. Nullae funes. Stetit quasi semper ibi fuisset.

Lumina aurea intus ardebant. Musici soni quasi tibiae et tympana audiebantur. Novem cives et duo servi ingressi sunt. Postea nihil meminerunt. Memoria eorum quasi ferro candenti deleta est. Quidam loquebantur de mulierem in trono sedentem, veste coccinea indutam, cum viro pileum crimsonum gerenti. Alii nihil dicere poterant.

Hi homines nunc velut lemures sunt — praesentes, sed ex mentibus suorum deleti.

Haruspices hoc prodigium externum esse dixerunt. Sacerdotes Magnae Matris nuntiaverunt deam inquietam esse.

Itaque Senatus Populusque Romanus decrevit:

[Fragment damaged — last lines deeply cut by different hand]
Mulier in trono adhuc spectat.

Translation — English

"...a black tent appeared... golden lights... a woman seated upon a throne in crimson... attended by a man in a tall hat of the same color... their memories erased as if by a hot iron..."

The formal language breaks at the end. Different chisel. Deeper cuts. Almost frantic. They tried to contain it with ritual. Black beans. Nine lambs. Bronze pots at midnight. A coordinated defense across an empire. You don't build a coordinated defense against nothing.

Same pattern. Same tent. Same woman. Same man in the hat. But this time the government responded. The Senate of Rome issued an official decree. They knew. And they still couldn't stop it.

He cannot leave.
